Case Studies - U.S. Trust
Challenge
U.S. Trust sought a larger return on its substantial legacy investment by reusing slices of business functionality. The company also needed to implement a plan to retire legacy applications and eliminate maintenance costs of its extensive point-to-point integration links.
Results
Vivat created an application portfolio to determine any overlapping business functionality existing within the enterprise. An Enterprise Business Entity Model was created to serve as a road map for reusable data and functionality, as well as to be a communication tool between the business partners and technology. The high-level architecture included Basic Data and Process Services supported by the Enterprise Service Bus.
Due to budgetary constraints, Vivat selected an Open Source vendor along with J2EE technology stack for the Enterprise Service Bus implementation. IWay Connectors were utilized for the legacy integration.
